We did a tasting and review of the Craigellachie 17 year old.

It’s review time! We did a tasting and review of the Craigellachie 17 year old. This dram is always a treat to me and I’m a huge fan of Craigellachie.

Specs – it comes in at 46% AVB Natural Colour and non-chill filtered.

Nose – instantly oily on the nose deep and rich flavours. I get a nice grilled pineapple 🍍 notes, tropical notes, fresh apples and pears. Toasted honey loads of vanilla. What a great deep rich nose. Amazing nose. 17/20

Palate – really oily rich mouthfeel. So creamy and thick. Pineapples, pears with some malty sweetness. It has some floral notes with a cotton candy note. Very sweet dram. 42/50

Finish – this has a medium to long finish. It’s a sweet peppery finish with that sweet malty note and the cotton candy flavour comes through to the end. 15/20

Bottle – I absolutely love this bottle. The look is amazing and I love the blue colour for this label. It stands out on the shelf. 5/5

Value – this is about $190 CAD in my area, although it does go on sale quite a bit I can only rate it on the regular price and around $200 CAD, that seems to be around the average price for most 17-18 year olds so it’s pretty fair price. 3/5

Overall – this is an amazing dram and is an absolutely treat. It’s a lot more sweeter than I remembered but still quite good. This is 💯 adventure worthy! I would recommend getting a bottle!
