Tonight’s Dram Adventure is with the Aultmore 12 year old.

The second I opened this bottles and started pouring the dram, I got a flood of fresh apples, lots of fresh macintosh apples.

This one comes in at 46% ABV. It is natural colour and is non chilled filtered.

Nose – instant and intense apples. Then opens up to a soft malty graininess. Then some sweetness, maybe even tropical notes, pears. Some floral, fresh flowers. Finally honey. Nice nose. 15/20

Palate – follows the nose. Simple but a really nice easy simple. Fresh fruit, again apples almost like apple juice. Some pears with honey drizzle on top. Little ginger with a tiny hint of floral. Really nice soft palate, sweet simple, straightforward and easy to sip. 35/50.

Finish – medium that the fresh fruits theme follow with. Apples that lead into pear that leads to ginger. Not super complex but really nice what to finish. Little bitter and pepper left in the palate. 14/20

Bottle – just like the liquid in the bottle. The bottle is nice and simple and classy. Doesn’t scream from the shelves. Good bottle but you might not remember it. 3/5

Value – I believe I grabbed this at $70 CAD. Good fair price for a pretty and straightforward dram. 3/5
