Our mutual love for spirits, especially whisky, all started with Tequila years ago. Before that we didn’t really have any experience with sipping spirits, but that all changed when we discovered what real traditional-made tequila tasted like – sunshine in a glass. As Trevor often does, once he’s interested in something, he will do a deep dive into learning everything he can on the subject. The deep dive into the world of tequila lead us to trying some of the most amazing tequilas out there. From tequila brands like Tequila Ocho, El Tesoro, Cascahuin, and of course our favourite Fortaleza Tequila.

From our love and appreciation of tequila, and due to perhaps our pallets actually getting better, we decided to try whisk(e)y. Whiskey started with bourbon for us. Not sure why we started with bourbon, perhaps we had thought that Scotch single malt was “too advanced” or “too smoky”. By any case we found ourselves fascinated by bourbon and just how different it was from tequila. We started to explore bourbon and American whiskeys, like ryes, until we got brave enough to buy a Scotch whisky.

We can honestly say, with Scotch it was love at first sip. We both fell in love with both Scotch whisky and the world around it really quickly. The flavour variations with Scotch are all amazing in their own way. It doesn’t matter if its bourbon matured, sherry matured or finished, peated, heavily peated, or even wine cask finished, we are here for all the adventures sipping spirits bring.

Through this sense of adventure, we have learned a lot over the years and now we want to document and share with other, perhaps helping anyone who is just starting on their adventure. With all the lessons we’ve gathered along the way, the most important one is – slow down and take your time. All spirits are meant to be enjoyed slowly and carefully, and of course, share with others! The Dram Adventure is much more fun if you share it with the good people around you in your life!
